BANGALORE: Namma Bengaluru, with its growing needs, has felt the shortage of manpower in police department, but this time it is the state transport agencies that have been left up the creek.
Due to lack of staff, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC)and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) both are being denied of a Director (Security), who is usually the Inspector General or Deputy Inspector General rank police officer on deputation. In KSRTC, the post of Director (Security and Vigilance, which was held by M A Saleem, has been vacant for over one year, while in BMTC, the Director (Security and Vigilance) J Arun Chakravarthy was transferred in April this year.
