Security guard held for stealing money from ATM

HYDERABAD: A security guard working at Cybage Software Pvt, Gachibowli on Saturday was arrested by the Cyberabad police for allegedly withdrawing Rs 13,500 from the bank account of a receptionist working in the same company, without her notice.  Police said N Chandra Sekhar allegedly withdrew the money using the receptionist Swetha Manga’s ATM card without her knowledge. After realising Rs 13,500 was withdrawn from her account, she lodged a complaint with the police. Police nabbed the accused using the video recordings of CCTV cameras arranged inside the ATM centre. During the interrogation Chandra Sekhar disclosed that he used to steal Swetha Manga’s ATM from her hand bag, whenever she was not around. During the investigation, Cyberabad police collected information on location of the ATM centre and the time of withdrawl.“First time when Chandra Sekhar searched her hand bag, he stumbled upon her ATM card and the password slip. From then he has been withdrawing money by taking her ATM card and later, putting it back in the bag after finishing his work” said Cyber Crime Inspector KS Rao said.   “We got to know that Chandra Sekhar had withdrawn money from Citibank ATM at DLF towers in Gachibowli. He withdrew money on four different occasions from the Swetha’s account,’’ Rao said.  The accused was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
