Pramod Muthalik was arrested but not for Mangalore attack.

New Delhi: The bail plea of Pramod Mutthalik, the chief of Hindu hardline group Shri Ram Sene, comes up for a hearing in a Bangalore court on Wednesday.

Mutthalik was arrested on Tuesday in Belgaum along with 10 of his activists. Though in the news for the attack on women at a Mangalore pub on Saturday night, Mutthalik was, however, arrested on charges of instigating communal violence in a speech in an earlier incident.

The former RSS member and Bajrang Dal leader has come under sharp criticism for the Mangalore incident with the BJP too keeping its distance.

However, while Mutthalik apologised for the Mangalore incident, he is understood to have threatened a similar protest on St Valentine's Day on Feb 14.

On Saturday, a group of 40 activists of the Sri Ram Sene barged into the pub Amnesia - The Lounge, in Mangalore and bashed up a group of young women and men, claiming the women were violating "traditional Indian values".
