KOCHI: Though the High Court has granted bail to Italian marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone, their release will take more time as various procedures are to be completed. According to Borstal School officials, the release may happen only on Thursday or Friday. “We are yet to receive the order granting bail. Since there are several conditions to be met, we hope the release would happen only by Thursday or Friday. If they bring the whole document, then it will be a matter of a few hours to release them from here. The Italian representatives or counsel have not approached us till now,” said K Anil Kumar, Superintendent of the Borstal School.According to police sources, the Italian delegates led by Consul-General Giampoulo Cutillo will reach Kollam CJM court to execute the bond. Later they have to surrender the passports to the magistrate. After the court procedures, they are likely to meet the Kochi City Police Commissioner and provide the details about their stay which should be within a distance of 10 km from the office of the Kochi City Police Commissioner.The marines would be released from jail only on production of valid travel documents or visa after they are endorsed by Foreigners Registration Officer. The superintendent of Borstal School will verify all these documents and issue the releasing order.
