Sharkel aides nabbed

PARADIP: Four persons, identified as supporters of contractor Bapi Sharkel, were arrested by Kujang police on Tuesday night in connection with the Posco coastal road violence. Despite the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to nab Sharkel within 24 hours, Kujang police managed to arrest only his supporters. Police are yet to lay their hands on the main accused even a week after the Posco coastal road violence in which one person died and 25 were injured. The victim’s brother Yudhister Swain had lodged an FIR against CPI leader and former legislator Narayan Reddy, Congress leader Jayant Biswal, anti-Posco leaders Sisir Mohapatra, Manorama Khatua and other miscreants alleging their involvement in the violence.
