New Delhi: Filmmaker Vinod Chopra Chopra’s multi-starrer Eklavya – The Royal Guard is all set for a big release in February this year.

Starring actors Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Jimmy Sheirgill, Raima Sen and Sharmila Tagore, the film received a U-certificate from the Censor Board without a single cut.

The music for Eklavya has been composed by Shantanu Moitra, who proved his mettle by providing lilting tunes in Parineeta and Lage Raho Munnabhai.

The film is a contemporary dramatic action-thriller about Eklavya, loyal guardian of a royal dynasty whose duty is to protect the erstwhile royal family in Devigarh, Rajasthan.

While Saif Ali Khan plays Prince Harshwardhan, Sanjay Dutt plays an irreverent police inspector.

Jackie Shroff takes on the role of the King's scheming brother, his son played by Jimmy Sheirgill. Vidya Balan provides the romantic angle as the Prince's childhood love.

Set in present day India, the film has a special resonance for today’s world, beleaguered by hate and violence born from fanatic belief.

Slated for a February 16 release, Eklavya marks the return of Vidhu Vinod Chopra to direction after a gap of seven years.

In the past, he has delivered hits such as Parinda, 1942-A Love Story, Mission Kashmir, Munnabhai MBBS, Parineeta and Lage Raho Munnabhai.
