Sonipat robbery: PMO sends top officials to visit the crime spot
The police has said that they have not been able to assess the full extent of the loss but they will soon nab all the culprits involved.

Sonipat: A day after a shocking heist in Sonipat, where burglars used a 80 feet tunnel to break into a Punjab National Bank, the the Prime Minister's Office has dispatched one of its top officials to the site.

The burglars had stolen crores of rupees and valuables from 90 lockers.

The police has said that they have not been able to assess the full extent of the loss but they will soon nab all the culprits involved. The incident came to light when the bank was reopened on Monday after the weekend holiday.

Haryana DGP said, "They dug an 80 feet tunnel into the bank. More than one person seem to be involved."

The tunnel to the bank which was dug up from a nearby unoccupied house was nearly 80-feet-long and 2.5 feet wide, police said, adding that a special investigation team has been set up to probe the robbery.
