BANGALORE: A 38-year-old woman, who was going to take part in Varamahalakhmi pooja at a relative’s house, died after she was knocked down by a train near Hebbal on Friday.The deceased has been identified as Gayatri, who was residing near Ramamandir in Hebbal.According to the police, Gayatri was invited by one of her relatives in Neelasandra to take part in Varamahalakhsmi pooja. Gayatri left home along with her daughter. While crossing a railway track near her house, her daughter first crossed the track but, as Gayatri tried to cross the track a speeding train knocked her down. Though she was rushed to a hospital, she died on the way to the hospital, the police said.A case has been registered in Byappanahalli railway police station in connection with the incident.
