Anana Sangha held the book launch of 'Paramhansa Yogananda - A Biography by Swami Kriyananda' in the city recently. The book is based on the brief overview of life of one of India’s most respected spiritual masters, Paramhansa Yogananda.Swami Kriyananda, a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and the author writes about Yogananda’s early life and spiritual search, his depth of self-realization and how he preached his teachings in the West. Apart form spreading the benefits Kriya Yoga in different parts of the world, the book also dwells on many other aspects of Yogananda’s life.Nayaswami Dharma Das, spiritual director of Ananda Sangha said, “We lead a busy life with sophisticated technology. But the same technology ends up distracting us all the time. Hence, it is a challenge to balance our inner and the outer self. This book provides information as to how to keep oneself happy and think clearly. The biography is filled with humility and it effectively conveys the message to the public as well.”Pooja Gandhi, Kannada film star who was also present at the event said, “Four years ago I read the autobiography of Paramhansa Yogananda. I believe that I have become a more positive and happy person after reading it. It was a life changing experience for me.”Nayaswami Dharma Das explained about the stages of meditation and Kriya Yoga which is penned in the book by Swami Kriyananda. He said, “The meditation has to be done productively and one has to be comfortable while doing it.”The audience who took part in the event were happy about the launch of the book which will better inform them about Kriya Yoga. Anjali Soni, who is a part of Ananda Sangha said, “This book makes one feel more relaxed. The aim of Ananda Sangha is to spreads joy, peace and happiness around through meditation.”
