BANGALORE: The state government is committed to implementing the Right to Education Act, and will initiate all measures to finetune the Bill before it is enforced in the state, said Minister for Primary Education Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri.
He addressed the media here on Friday that only a few states in the country have adopted the RTE Act so far, and that the state government is adopting an allout approach to implement it.He said that the department after analysing the pros and cons of the impact of the Bill, had referred to State Law department to present its view.

"With little changes the RTE act would come into force in Karnataka shortly," he said.

He said that a committee under Vishnukanth Chatpalli, a member of the state knowledge commission, was constituted to look into the issue and advise the state government.

On July 5, a programme titled "Shaalegaagi Naavu" would be organised in all government schools where elected representatives from the school jurisdiction have been asked to participate, which also includes the chief minister, ministers, MLAs and MLCs.
