CHENNAI: SSN College of Engineering celebrated it 16th Annual College Day at its premises recently. The event was presided by Suresh Jandhyala, Director General of Income Tax, Chennai, who said that students need to broaden their horizons and upgrade their knowledge and added, “They should build a multi-faceted and well-rounded personality.”Outstanding achievements in academics as well other extra-curricular activies of the students were recognized and felicitated at the event. While giving away the prizes and honoring the students with awards, Suresh said, “India is on the threshold of a fantastic future and the present student community will be the heroes of its success stories.” Around 200-odd students were felicitated, out of which, 80 students were awarded gold medals.Emphasizing the importance of patience, perseverance and self-confidence, Suresh remarked that students were the architects of their own future and so should dream big and make it happen.He also congratulated the college for creating numerous opportunities for all segments of the community through various schemes like the merit-cum-means, sports and rural scholarships. He concluded saying. “Out-of-the-box thinking is the road to success.”
