HYDERABAD: Students who have got admission in colleges which had low intake of students, are now fearing the colleges might close down, leading to an uncertain future. Speaking to Express, N Sambaiah, the uncle of a first year engineering student N Sudeeshna said she got admission into an engineering college in Warangal in CSE.
"The total intake of students in the college in all branches was just 50. From the day of admission, she is very much worried fearing the college might be closed," he added. Sudeeshna is now planning to move to another college in Warangal, which had a better intake of students.Sambaiah had come to Hyderabad to meet the EAMCET convener to know whether the fee reimbursement scheme was applicable to his niece if she moved to another college but officials informed the scheme will not be applicable to her. The rules say students would be allowed to move to another college if the previous one closes down and the student transferred would become eligible for fee reimbursement. Officials said in Sudeeshna's case, the college had got 15 admissions in CSE branch, but the college did not approach them to shut down. Like Sudeeshna, scores of students and parents have been coming to the Technical Education Bhavan at Masab Tank to know about their college status.
