New Delhi: Delhi Police wants to examine Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar in the Sunanda Puskkar death case.

Sources said the police want to know the kind of relationship Mehr Tarar shared with Sunanda's husband Shashi Tharoor.

According to the sources, the Delhi Police believe Tarar may hold the key to the mystery behind Sunanda's death.

Tarar was embroiled in a sensational and public spat with Sunanda on Twitter before the latter's death. It started after a string of tweets from Tharoor's Twitter handle which was apparently hacked and then from Sunana. The tweets were about Tarar and it was followed by a response from the Pakistani journalist.

Sunanda had accused Tarar of having a relationship with her husband. She had accused Tarar of stalking her husband and of being an ISI agent. "We have a hacker and she is stalking my husband. She has hacked into my husband's computer, into my computer. She is an ISI agent," Sunanda had said hours before her death on January 17 last year.

Meanwhile, the police say they have not called Sunanda's friend Sunil him for questioning after the FIR was registered. But the police have confirmed that he was questioned months before the FIR was filed. Sunil was seen beside Sunanda's before her death. He is reported to have handled her tweets, posting and copying them.

The police have not yet contacted Tharoor either for questioning, the sources added.
