BANGALORE: Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Pradeep Singh Kharola has urged public to switch to e-payments.Speaking at an interactive session organised by Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in association with Karnataka State Taxes Expert Committee on Thursday, Kharola said that they have not made e-payment mandatory. However, at present 60 to 70 per cent collection of tax is made through e-payment, he added.Kharola further said that if tax payments follow e-payments, refunds would be automatic. “At present, refund process is not automated and heavily dependent on manual checking,” he said.
