Sharma was awarded life imprisonment for murdering his wife Naina Sahni in 1995 and throwing her body into the tandoor of a Delhi restaurant.
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will be hearing the parole plea of former Delhi Youth Congress President Sushil Kumar Sharma on Wednesday.
Sharma was awarded life imprisonment for murdering his wife Naina Sahni in 1995 and throwing her body into the tandoor of a Delhi restaurant.
The Delhi High Court on June 23 had refused to give an urgent hearing to Sharma, but agreed to hear his plea on July 9 and directed him to surrender in Tihar Jail on June 26, the date of expiry of the three-week-long furlough granted by the Director General of Prisons.
Sharma had sought parole for three months on the ground that he needed to take care of his mother who had been advised to undergo a knee surgery and subsequent physiotherapy for three months.
