TIRUVANNAMALAI: District Collector of Tiruvannamalai Anshul Mishra on Monday raided Mount St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and found the school administration and supervisors circulating photocopies of answers to the Maths paper to students appearing for the Class X public exam.Talking to Express, Mishra said he acted after he received many complaints through e-mail regarding the board exam at the government-aided school. A total of 468 students of the school and 295 private candidates appeared for the exam there. “I received a lot of complaints—listing the names of invigilators, supervisors and other school staff involved—alleging they are circulating photocopies of answers to the students. Following this, I enquired and found the complaints were genuine. We waited for two days to catch the teachers involved in such irregularities red-handed,” he said.Supervisor Dhanapal, teachers Shanthi, Babu and Senthil Kumar, office assistant Periyanayagam and office staff Varalakshmi were nabbed and later suspended. “We checked the supervisors and invigilators and found photocopies of answers for the Maths exam on papers the size of 1/4th of an A4 sheet,” Mishra said.He also found that the teachers carried mobile phones inside the exam halls, which is against norms.
