Teachers should be role models: P Parameswaran

KOCHI: Teachers should dedicate themselves in creating an atmosphere to groom a generation with high moral and spiritual values, said Bharatheeya Vichara Kendra director P Parameswaran. Addressing a meeting of students and parents organised in connection with the 125th anniversary celebrations of the TD High School, Mattancherry, on Friday, he said that the teachers and the parents should take special care to be role models for the students.A student community that does not respect society’s social and moral values will be a threat to the nation, he added, while referring to the increase in criminal activities being found among students.Parameswaran, who is also the chairman of the Kanyakumari Vevekananda Kendra, emphasised on Swami Vivekananda’s Brahmacharyam and the Gurukula system of education that would help bring the student community on the right track.
