THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The five-member expert committee appointed by the Supreme Court to assess the value of the treasure trove of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple,  met here on Wednesday. The meeting was earlier scheduled for August 22.  The team on Wednesday evening also visited the temple and reviewed the security arrangements provided to the vaults in which temple treasures are kept. C V Anandabose, Vice-Chancellor, National Museum Institute, who is the chairman of  the committee, said that the reason for the meeting on Wednesday was that the members of the committee who in charge of various responsibilities had completed their designated work earlier than scheduled.   Last week, the committee had checked the security of the temple along with senior police officials. It is understood that decisions on the final draft of the future plan and also on carrying out the actual assessment of the temple treasure were made at the meeting.  The committee also decided to present the plan before the Supreme Court. Sources told Express that a final plan has been prepared on documentation, storage, retrieval, security and safety of the treasures in addition to setting up a museum, where valuables with historic and antique value, will be kept. Besides C V Anandabose who is the chairman, the committee comprises M V Nair of  Archeological Department, V K Harikumar, executive officer of the temple,  B V Raja of the Archeological Survey of India, and Vikas Sharma of the RBI  as its members. The committee will grade the treasures unearthed from the chambers A, C, D, E and F and will organise an inventory of all valuables and videograph and photograph these valuables. The Supreme Court in its directive last month had asked the committee to categorise it  into three - those having historic and antique value, those having only physical value and those for daily use in the temple.
