The decision was taken at a board meeting of the KSEB on Tuesday. The KSEB has also lowered the interest rates for settling arrears as part of the UDF Government’s 100-day action plan. In a bid to encourage closed industries in the LT/HT/EHT categories to open and function, industries that settle arrears at a single go should pay interest at the rate of three per cent and those making the payment in 10 instalments, six per cent. For consumers who do not fall within this category, the interest rates are nine per cent for one-time payment and 15 per cent for payment in 10 instalments.
