Thiruvabharanam procession

SABARIMALA: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Thiruvabharanam procession through the resumed land which was under the custody of the encroachers for decades. The Sabarimala Thiruvabharanapatha Samrakshana Samithi spearheaded the movement to resume the encroached land in Kulanada, Mezhuveli, Kidangannur, Aranmula, Mallappuzhassery, Kozhenchery, Cherukole, Ayroor, Ranni, Idakkulam, Vadasserikara, Perunadu and Laha village limits. The process of resuming the encroached land on a war-footing was undertaken by the district administration to ensure the Thiruvabharanam procession to undertake the journey through the traditional path. Around 3.5 km path was cleared through the Harrisons Malayalam Laha Estate.  Except the encroachment by a place ofworship at Ranni-Vaikom and a school, the other encroached land was resumed by the district administration.
