HYDERABAD: The managing director of a private security agency and three ex-servicemen engaged by the agency as personal security officers to businessmen in the city, were nabbed on Wednesday for not following gun licencing norms. Police said the ex-servicemen were in possession of self-protection gun licences but were working as PSOs violating licence norms. Task Force sleuths nabbed the four and recovered two .32 revolvers, a 7.54 mm pistol, 50 live rounds of ammunition and three gun licences. One of the ex-serviceman is engaged as PSO of Jubilee Hills based businessman, Lagadapati Sridhar.The nabbed include T Shankar Babu Rao, the managing director of Elite Security Force at Vijaynagar Colony. The ex-servicemen are Jagdish Parsad of Haryana, Subrath Kumar Panigrahi of Odisha and Syed Ahmed Zaffer Mehdi of Bahadurpura. "They procured individual gun licences from the local district magistrate, Doda in Jammu and Kashmir with permission to purchase, keep and carry the weapon all over India and purchased the weapons from armourers for self-protection," Task Force officials said.Seeing an advertisement issued by Shankar Babu, the two applied for jobs and were employed. Jagdish Parsad and Subrath Kumar Panigrahi are PSOs of Mohd Ashar Raoof while Mehdi is PSO of Lagadapati Sridhar, a release said Former Jawan Held for Misusing FirearmHYDERABAD: A former jawan of Assam Rifles, who is presently working as a personal security guard of a city-based businessman was nabbed by the police on Wednesday for possessing a firearm violating the arms licence conditions and also misusing it.The accused reportedly fired three rounds into air on Diwali day, police said.Police said the accused the 28-year-old Ashish Mallik of Uttar Pradesh, while celebrating Diwali with his friends on the terrace of his house reportedly fired three rounds into the air in a drunken state
