Three Naxals, one of them carrying a cash reward on his head, were arrested on Saturday from separate places in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district.

Three Naxals, one of them carrying a cash reward on his head, were arrested on Saturday from separate places in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district.

The ultras, identified as Ramnath (32), Kangalu (30) and Chamlu (35), were arrested from Mardapal and Bayanar police station limits, with arms and explosives recovered from them, Superintendent of Police Kondagaon Abhishek Meena said.

A team of personnel from Mardapal police limits was on patrolling in forest in Chhoteusari village, when it received tip-off of presence of naxals in the forest and nabbed a suspected naxal Ramnath, he said. During interrogation, Ramnath said that he was a member of outlawed naxal outfit and was working as president of outfit Jantana in the Chhoteusari village, Meena said, adding, Ramnath also carried a cash reward of Rs 5,000 on his head.

Police has also recovered a muzzle-loading gun, a muzzle-loading pistol and one pipe bomb from him. Offences of loot, attacking police parties and murder were registered against the naxal. In another arrest in Adnar village of the district, a team of Bayanar police station, on receiving information of a naxals hiding in the area, mobilised a team and arrested one naxal Kangalu and also recovered one muzzle-loading gun from him, Meena said.

While returning from Adnar village, another naxal, Chamlu alias Suresh, was arrested from forest in Rangagodi village and recovered a muzzle-loading gun from him, police said. The duo have been booked under charges of involvement in bomb explosions, attacks of police parties, added police.
