A tiger was found dead in a canal in Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bihar's West Champaran district on Monday, forest official said.
According to the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nandkishore, the forest guards found the carcass of the tiger in Sikpiya canal on road number seven of Madanpur forest range of VTR.
The carcass has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of the feline's death, he added.
There were about 20 tigers in VTR as per the last census conducted four years ago.
