Turkey wants to launch the attack against Kurdish separatists in northern Iraq.
New Delhi: Turkey's cabinet is likely to decide on Wednesday whether the country will launch a major military attack against Kurdish separatists in northern Iraq.
The motion is expected to pass easily given the ruling party's large majority, and support from main opposition parties.
Iraq, however, has warned that any such action could destabilise the region.
The Iraqi Vice-President has gone to Turkey, calling for immediate talks between the two countries to find a solution to the crisis.
Turkey is under heavy public pressure to act after a series of attacks on troops, allegedly by groups who want a separate homeland in eastern Turkey.
