New Delhi: Another rape and murder was reported from UP - this time from Varanasi - the girl was found with her throat slit. The post mortem report confirmed that she was raped before being murdered.
Police is yet to confirm the identity of the girl but the she was last spotted with two men near a city market. Police have also recovered a saw from the crime scene and are trying to trace the culprits. This is the eighth rape reported in UP in the last 48 hours.
This shocker from Varanasi comes less than 12 hours after Chief Minister Mayawati announced the setting up of fast-track courts for rape cases.
She had also said that there will be no bail for the rape accused till he is found guilty. Meanwhile, In Bagpat on Tuedsay a CRPF personnel's teenage daughter committed suicide after being allegedly raped by her friend's brothers.
On Sunday night, the body of a girl missing for thee days was found in Gonda. Her parents claimed that she was raped and murdered. In Firozabad, the family of another 14-year-old claimed that their daughter was kidnapped on Sunday night and was allegedly raped. The rapes have become politicised with the SP and the Congress criticising law and order in UP. The State votes next year.
