Uttar Pradesh: Rape victim commits suicide; family, BSP protest

Hathras: There is no end to the rape horror in Uttar Pradesh. A Dalit woman, who was allegedly gangraped, reportedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze.

Her family and BSP workers protested on Tuesday. The woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped near Etawah on July 12. She set herself ablaze on Monday and succumbed to her injuries on her way to the hospital.

Hathras SDM, who recorded her statement, said that the girl had suffered 100 per cent burns and was being treated by a team of doctors at a hospital.
