Austin: Sebastian Vettel again posted the fastest lap in the final practice at the US Grand Prix, pushing past team-mate and rival Mark Webber in the final minute of the hour-long session.
Vettel lapped the Circuit of the Americas in 1 minute, 36.733 seconds Saturday, a margin of 0.203 seconds faster than Webber. Those two will battle for pole position in the afternoon qualifying session for Sunday's race.
Vettel has already won the season championship and is aiming for a record eighth-consecutive win in a single season. Webber has started from the pole in two of the previous three races, but is still looking for a victory in his final Formula One season.
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who won the US Grand Prix last year, was third in practice and Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg was fourth.
