In an interview with Local18, fruit vendors of Courtallam have shared, “Seasonal fruits are brought directly to the market from areas like Kannupulli Mettu, Vallam, and Courtallam.”

When the supply of the fruits decreases, it is then imported from Kerala. As per the fruit vendor, it is Durian which is sold at the highest price due to its high demand and rare availability. It is sourced from Kannupulli Mettu and a few parts of Kerala. It is currently priced at Rs 800. In the off-season, it is imported from Thailand and then the prices get hiked and it is sold for Rs 1,000. Rambutan is sold for Rs 360 per kilo and the vendors are expecting a hike in its price as well.
