Warrant for drug scam accused

CHENNAI: The II Metropolitan Magistrate in Egmore has issued a bailable warrant directing the Chinmayanagar police to arrest and produce Meenakshmi Sundaram before him on February 17 in connection with a cheque bounce case.Meenakshi Sundaram is the main accused in the ‘spurious drug scam case’. The warrant followed a complaint from financier Mohan Kumar of Choolai. The complaint alleged that Meenakshi Sundaram borrowed `10 lakh in February, 2010 and issued two cheques for `5 lakh each in March in settlement of the loan. However, the cheques were bounced. After issuing a legal notice, Mohan Kumar preferred the complaint to punish Sundaram.
