A woman sub-inspector (SI) was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 in Indore on Thursday.
The woman SI identified as Ansuia Jain was caught following a tip-off by Shailendra Singh Sikarwar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Lokayukta, Virendra Singh told reporters.
Sikarwar's daughter-in-law had filed a complaint of molestation in the Bhanwarkuan Police Station following which the SI demanded a bribe 1,500 for taking action in the matter swiftly.
The SI was trapped as per the plan by a woman officer, Asha Sejkar the moment Sikarwar handed over the money to her.
A case was registered against Jain under Prevention of Corruption Act in this regard.
