KADAPA: Women of Peddapasupula village, who were demanding the closure of liquor shops in their village, finally withdrew their stir on Sunday following an assurance from Jammalamadugu MLA C Audinarayana Reddy, that action would be taken. After arriving at the liquor shop, where the women were staging a dharna from April 16, the MLA assured them of closing the liquor shop in their village by convincing the shop keeper. “I have no relation with the govt’s excise policy, but I assure you that the shop will not be open tomorrow. But, you should restrict your husbands and family members from drinking liquor by going to the nearby town Jammalamadugu,” the MLA warned. Responding to Audinaryana Reddy’s assurance, the women withdrew their protest.
