New Delhi: The Deols have the charm of their own but the trends have changed at the box-office in recent times. A good publicity drive can ensure a massive opening for a film but the absence of quality content can hamper its run at the ticket window.
Sangeeth Sivan's 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' is a sequel to 2011 film 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', which was directed by Samir Karnik. The film features Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva in the lead roles. This time the drama has shifted to UK while the last episode was set in the backdrop of Benares and Punjab.
The songs of the film are getting played at clubs and cafes but the audience's receptivity towards 'YPD 2' will mostly depend on its spontaneity and the comic timing.
'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is still running to full houses, so 'YPD 2' will have to maintain the momentum from the very first day. Let's see if this happened or not.
