Your LinkedIn profile can help you find a date. Here's how
Your LinkedIn profile may have helped you in getting a good job, but what if it could also help you in setting a romantic date? Here is an app that helps you do that.

New Delhi: Your LinkedIn profile may have helped you in getting a good job, but what if it could also help you in setting a romantic date? A new app, LinkedUp, collects information from your LinkedIn account and helps you connect with potential matches. The recommendations it makes are based on your industry, age, proximity and gender.

The app, which is currently available for iOS devices, lets you anonymously like or pass profiles. If someone you like on LinkedUp happens to like you back, then the app alerts you, helping you setting a date.

To use this App, users must register an account using their LinkedIn login, meaning they are authorising the app to access certain information available in their LinkedIn account, including information about LinkedIn connections.

Max Fischer, the 28-year-old founder of the app and a former investment banker, told the Wall Street Journal in an interview, "the LinkedIn data is going to result in much higher-quality matches. Because a LinkedIn profile is essentially a digital resume, people get a really true sense of where someone;s from, what they do, and where they went to school, which are the main questions people ask in terms of dating."

Fischer conceived the idea to develop this app after he notice people using LinkedIn for mroe than professional networking. iOS users can download the app from here.

LinkedUp is not affiliated with LinkedIn.
