The festival of colours, Holi, is around the corner. Followed by Holi, the preparations for Chaitra Navratri will begin, which is considered to be one of the auspicious celebrations for Hindus. Apart from that, the Hindu New Year will also be occurring from Pratipada of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month, as per the Vedic calendar.

According to the Hindu calendar, the Chaitra Navratri will be beginning on April 9, wherein the forms of Goddess Bhagwati are worshipped. Out of the nine days, Ashtami is considered to have great importance. On this day, devotees perform various rituals and puja to attain the blessing of the Goddess.

As per the rituals, while many such things are brought home to please the goddess, certain things are believed to bring happiness and prosperity. According to a famous astrologer, Pandit Nandkishor Mudgal from Deoghar, certain items attract positive energy to the home on their arrival.
