Two decades have passed since one of Hollywood’s most famous love stories began. This was the first time Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, affectionately known as ‘Bennifer’ by their fans, got together. Even though they first met in 2002, their turbulent relationship has been closely watched for 20 years, from the time they first met to their rekindled romance in 2021 and now their dreamy wedding in 2022.
Designer Ralph Lauren took to Instagram to reveal the subtle nuances of the well-crafted gowns and tuxedo that JLo and Ben donned as they made an appearance for their big day. JLo wore three distinct Ralph Lauren gowns on the occasion, the first of which was a spectacular short-sleeve gown with more than 1,000 handkerchiefs and 500 metres of fabric cut into ruffles and hand-stitched around the skirt and turtleneck collar.
Lopez looked stunning in all three of her custom Ralph Lauren gowns at her intimate wedding ceremony. In a post with a video of the making of JLo’s dress and her getting ready for the wedding, Ralph Lauren wrote, “Crafted by a team of artisans in our atelier, each gown featured a mix of time-honored details and enduring workmanship — from hand-embroidered embellishments to intricate construction and beyond.”
Affleck matched all of his wife’s outfits with a black and white tuxedo that was paired with a “formal one-button peak tuxedo jacket with a double-pleated trouser and narrow piqué bib shirt.”
By gradually updating fans via her newsletter On The JLo, the singer has taken charge of the narrative of her relationship. In her most recent issue, Lopez revealed details about her wedding and provided glimpses of the event, including the couple’s wedding song and their bespoke Ralph Lauren wedding dresses and tuxedo. The stunning wedding took place over three days, with the ceremony taking place on Affleck’s plantation-style estate in rural Georgia on Saturday.
Previously, Ralph Lauren broke a tradition by agreeing to design Priyanka’s bridal gown, as it was the first time he conceived a bridal gown for a celebrity. Prior to Priyanka, only his daughter, daughter-in-law, and niece had the opportunity to wear Ralph Lauren outfits at their weddings.
