It is most common in older adults, people with inactive lifestyles, those with type 2 diabetes or obesity, people who eat a lot of salt and heavy drinkers. Younger people can also develop hypertension due to stress or other factors.

For women aged 21 to 25, a healthy blood pressure is usually between 115.5 and 70.5. As women get older, between 31 to 35 years, their blood pressure tends to decrease. So, at this age, women’s blood pressure should be lower than 110.5 over 72.5.

How Much BP Should Men Have

Men usually have a slightly higher blood pressure than women. For men aged 31 to 35, a healthy range is usually between 114.5 and 75.5. But as men reach 40, their blood pressure tends to go up a bit. Between the ages of 61 and 65, men might have a reading of around 143 to 76.5.

How to Reduce Blood Pressure?

If your blood pressure goes up, it can lead to many heart-related risks. So, it’s important to take care of your lifestyle right away. That means exercising daily and eating healthy foods. Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, processed foods, and foods high in sugar and salt. Make sure to manage stress and regularly see your doctor for advice. Take any prescribed medication consistently.
