Actress Pranit Hatte Shares Hotel Denied Her Booking For Being A Transgender

Marathi actress Pranit Hatte received heartfelt love from millions of fans after her performance in the serial Karbhari Laybhari, where she played the character of Ganga. Her performance caught the eyes of her fans and helped her mark her name in the industry. It is a Marathi show that started streaming on ZEE Marathi in 2020 and ended in 2021. Most importantly, she became the first transgender person in the Marathi industry. On May 9, she shared a video on her Instagram handle. In the clip, she shared her anger and frustration regarding a hotel booking cancellation. The video has raised concerns on social media. She shared a video after she went to Nashik for an event. According to her post, Pranit Hatte booked a room in a hotel called Hotel Pooja International, and they cancelled her booking as she transgender. She shared her documents with the hotel authorities. The authorities informed her that they had cancelled her booking because of her gender preference.

In her video, she asked angrily, “Where should we go?”. Pranit, angered and frustrated with the behaviour, asked her fans for suggestions and solutions. Her fans in the comment sections extended their support to the actress. A fan commented, “I just called up and confronted the hotel. They must be ashamed of themselves for sure now. Thanks for sharing the sad incident”. Another fan shared his anger and said, “Violation of the Transgender Act 2019 (Protection of Trans Persons)”. Someone also suggested she go to the nearest police station to file a complaint about the wrongdoing by the hotel authority.

In the live video, Pranit Hatte shared her concern regarding the behaviour of people towards transgender people. She explained that she was not there for doing something wrong. She was there for work. In an angry and sarcastic voice, she also said that people should direct people belonging to the transgender community about where they should go and where they should stay.
