After Ghilli's Success, Makers Of This Thalapathy Vijay Classic Planning To Re-Release The Film
Vijay recent re-release, Ghilli became a superhit at the box-office, collecting more than Rs 20 crore worldwide.

Thalapathy Vijay’s superhit Ghilli was re-released recently and unsurprisingly garnered a tremendous response from fans and audiences alike. According to the latest reports, producers are planning to re-release another of the actor’s classics.

Vijay and Trisha starrer Ghilli became one of the biggest films in the state of Tamil Nadu after its re-release, a rare occurrence, as claimed by industry insiders. Now, upping the anticipation and excitement of the fans, producers have decided to re-release another classic hit from Vijay’s illustrious catalogue. The film is reported to be Kushi, which had its original release in 2000.

Directed and written by S J Suryah, Kushi was released on May 19, in 2000. The film includes actor Vijay and Jyothika as the lead pair. They are supported by Vijayakumar, Shilpa Shetty, Mumtaj, Vivek and many others. A M Rathnam produced the film under the banner of Sri Surya Movies. Deva and Jeeva handled the music in the film handled the cinematography, while B Lenin and V T Vijayan did the editing. The film became a huge hit after its release and was remade in Hindi as Khushi, starring Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor. It earned Jyothika a Filmfare Best Actress Award Tamil.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s latest re-release Ghilli proved to be a superhit at the box office. As per the latest reports, the film has collected more than Rs 15 crore at the global box office so far. Showing no signs of stopping just yet, the distributors predict that the film is expected to collect more.

Ghilli is helmed by Dharani, who has also written its screenplay. The film stars Vijay and Trisha as the leads, along with Prakash Raj, Ashish Vidyarthi, Dhamu, Mayilsamy and Janaki Sabesh among others. It is produced by A M Rathnam under the banner of Sri Surya Movies. Vidyasagar composed the music in the film while the cinematography was done by S Gopinath and B Lenin and V T Vijayan did the editing.
