Allu Arjun Celebrates 20 Years Of His Film Arya: 'It Changed The Course Of My Life'
Allu Arjun starrer Arya recently completed 20 years of its release. The actor celebrated the milestone with a special post on social media.

One of the most celebrated actors in the Telugu film industry today, Allu Arjun had the first turning point of his acting career back in 2004 with the release of Arya. The film which marks the Pushpa actor’s on-screen collaboration with director Sukumar was not only his first major blockbuster but also got him much-needed fame in the industry. Celebrating 20 years of Arya, Allu Arjun shared a special post on social media and expressed gratitude. He also shared a couple of unseen photos from the film’s set, with the caption, “Sweet Memories.”

In an X post, Allu Arjun shared a new poster celebrating 20 years of Arya and wrote, “20 years of Arya. It’s not just a movie… It’s a moment in time that changed the course of my life. Gratitude forever.”

In another tweet, he included old pictures with co-actors Anuradha Mehta and Siva Balaji, along with a young Sukumar in the same frames. They can be seen interacting with other crew members and seemingly discussing a scene. It is pertinent to note that the actor-director duo teamed up for Pushpa: The Rise and will next come together for its sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, this year.

Allu Arjun wasn’t the first choice for Arya

At a special event to celebrate Arya’s 20th anniversary, director Sukumar, producer Dil Raju and actor Allu Arjun shared some interesting details about the film. During this time, the makers revealed that they had initially approached Ravi Teja and Prabhas with the script; however, they settled down with Allu Arjun.

“On the suggestion of Dil Raju Garu, I narrated the story to Prabhas. But I wasn’t sure if he could do the role, nor did he feel confident. It was then that I saw Bunny (Allu Arjun) at the special preview of Dil and was amazed by his body language and persona. I narrated the first half of Arya to him, and he was very happy,” Sukumar shared.

More About Arya

Featuring Allu Arjun, Anuradha and Siva in the lead roles, Arya is the story of a one-sided lover and a girl who falls for someone else. The romantic-comedy film came as a huge break for Allu. It was also remade in Tamil, with Dhanush and Shriya Saran in the lead.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is presently gearing up for his much-awaited release with Pushpa: The Rule. Also, featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the film will hit theatres on August 15 this year.
