Vijay Deverakonda was unhappy with a question on pay disparity at a recent press conference. Vijay was joined by Mrunal Thakur at the launch of Family Star song Kalyani Vaccha Vacchaa. During the launch, a reporter asked Vijay about the trolling he and the film has been getting for portraying a luxurious life while claiming that it is set in a middle class family. This reportedly left Vijay fuming and he lashed out at the reporter.
“I don’t understand, are people genuinely confused or are they just looking to troll us? (sic)," he said, as reported by India.com. “We have all grown up seeing lavish dream sequences in films. No one here is stupid enough to make a film where a hero asks the heroine to pay money for petrol (indicating a dialogue from the trailer) but has a lavish wedding," Vijay Deverakonda added.
“But even then, so what if he is middle class? Couldn’t he have done better for himself through the story? Let’s watch the film before jumping to conclusions (sic)," he said. Producer Dil Raju added, “You can easily find dupes of everything designer for cheap now (sic)."

Family Star is directed by Parasuram Petla and co-produced by Dil Raju and Shirish.
