Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has the ability to resonate deeply with audiences through touching storytelling. Most of the celebrities are a fan of his work. Now, Anurag Basu has also joined the list of his admirers. In an interaction, the director showered praise on Hirani. Basu said that the 3 Idiots director is humble.
Anurag Basu, who recently made an appearance on Samdish Bhatia’s podcast show, was asked to name a director whom he is jealous of. The Barfi director immediately responded by saying, “There are many but primarily, it is Raju,” referring to Rajkumar Hirani.
“He [Rajkumar Hirani] has flexed his muscles as a director and has also given mass films. He has showcased his creativity while also delivering superhit films for mass. That is why I am jealous of him. Because we are still trying to find the balance between the two aspects,” added Anurag Basu.
In the same interview, Anurag Basu called Rajkumar Hirani a “very humble person.”

Workwise, Rajkumar Hirani’s last film was Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The film raked in over Rs 220 crore at the box office.
As for Anurag Basu, he is gearing up for the release of his next film, Metro In Dino. The film will hit the theatres on November 29. It stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Konkona Sensharma, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Neena Gupta among others.

Metro In Dino is reportedly a sequel to Anurag Basu’s acclaimed film Life in a Metro, released in 2007. The romantic drama featured Irrfan Khan, Kay Kay Menon, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Shilpa Shetty.
