AR Rahman has once again proven that he’s a master when it comes to creating music. In a move that will redefine the music industry in the time to come, AR Rahman has used artificial intelligence to revive the voices of late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed for his latest project, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Lal Salaam.

Sony Music South made this announcement on Monday, January 29. Taking to their handle on the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, they wrote, “The mesmerizing voices of Bamba Bakya & Shahul Hameed in #ThimiriYezhuda from #LalSalaam made possible by @timelessvoicesx AI voice models. This marks the first time in the industry that a late legend’s voice has been brought back to life.”

Later today, AR Rahman took to his handle on the platform and wrote, “We took permission from their families and sent deserving remuneration for using their voice algorithms… technology is not a threat and a nuisance if we use it right…#respect #nostalgia ”

Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam promises an engaging cinematic experience. The film has a stellar cast, including Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles, with Rajinikanth making an extended cameo appearance. The ensemble also features Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar and others.
