Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi in not in favour of polygamy relationships. The actor, in a recent interview, expressed his disappointment in the newage dating styles. He compared the trend of exploring polygamy relationships as something they believe is ‘cool’ Polygamy recently made headlineswhen a YouTuber named Armaan Malik was seen with both his wives on Bigg Boss OTT 3. Meanwhile, Arshad shared the observations on the dating trends he notices among his children.
“Unfortunately, (Polygamy) is like how ek zameene mein how cigarette was considered cool, this is considered cool. But it is toxic. Wo baad mein realise hoga ke yaar, ye toh bahut galat hai. There is a thing which I heard my kids saying, we are not committed but we still going out. Sab chal raha hai, sab kuch ho raha hai but hum committed nahi hai. Boss, kya ho raha hai!” he said while speaking on Unfiltered by Samdish.
“The whole thing that try everything (relationships wise) and then decide, and you don’t have to do this and you don’t have to do that. Life doesn’t have to be like this. Jo harr wo cheez jo purkho ke zamaane se chali aa rahi hai, humare maa-baap ne sikhayi hai, jo norm lagta hai, wo saari cheeze galat hai. This is purely social media,” he added.
For the unversed, Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Polygamy as ‘marriage in which a spouse of either sex may have more than one mate at the same time.’ The concept is niche in India. In the pop culture front in India, Polygamy became a talking point due to Armaan Malik. He appeared with both his wives on the reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 3, and his approach to life wasn’t welcomed by many, even in the Bigg Boss OTT house.
Meanwhile, Arshad dated and Maria Goretti. Their wedding took place in 1999. The couple has two children.
