The confusion over similar names in Bollywood hasn’t ended yet, nor has there been any major solution to it. Those with similar names continue to become the centre of attention for no reason whatsoever. Recently, veteran actor Rajit Kapur opened up about the same, sharing his own experience of people often confusing him with actor-filmmaker Rajat Kapoor. In an interview with Unfiltered by Samdish, Rajit went all out as he shared the funny story behind the name confusion and also recalled some hilarious anecdotes.
Upon being asked why his date of birth shows 1960 instead of 1968 on Google, Rajit claimed that none of the information is verified on the internet. “Somebody has posted some pictures. It is all my pictures with Rajat Kapoor’s birthday date and films. This happens a lot. Sometimes it’s my photo and his details, and then his photo and my details,” the veteran actor said.
Sharing one such hilarious incident, Rajit recalled once receiving Rajat Kapoor’s cheque for a certain work. “I called him and asked, ‘Did you work for his company?’ He said, ‘Yes, yes.’ I added, ‘But I have the money now,'” bursting into laughter.

Sharing another incident, Rajit shared how he mistakenly received a big thank-you cake from Navneet Nishant, who worked in one of Rajat Kapoor’s films.
“The cake company was in my office building. Navneet might have told them to send it to Rajat Kapoor, and they thought it was me. I called her, and she wasn’t able to first say that it was a mistake. She was like, “No. I was missing you, so I thought of sending it to you. She was embarrassed and tried to cover it up. But then I realised that Rajat was so generous. I think he paid the actors more than what was promised. As everybody got an extra amount paid, to thank him, she wanted to send him a cake, and it came to my address,” he said.
Besides these light-hearted conversations, the Raazi actor also spoke at length about the struggles that actors face, especially those who are underpaid, unpaid or working for free for opportunities. “There is exploitation. Even if you deserve Rs 20,000, they will bring it down to Rs 10,000. It happens till date,” he said.
