A hangman’s noose, a judge’s gavel, a criminal lawyer and an isolated cottage in the snow – the trailer of Chehre has set up the ambience of suspense just right. The clip from the upcoming thriller opens with Amitabh Bachchan’s voiceover warning- if you have committed a crime, be careful when you cross this path.
Bachchan plays a criminal lawyer, who conducts a mock trial with friends in a cottage up on a snow-clad hill. Emraan Hashmi is given the role of the criminal. But soon, lines between reality and the game blurs as skeletons start stumbling out of the closet.
The film releasing theatrically on April 9 has been helmed by Rumy Jafry and produced by Anand Pandit. Chehre also features Siddhanth Kapoor, Krystle Dsouza, Raghubir Yadav and Annu Kapoor. The film is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited.
Actress Rhea Chakraborty is also part of the cast and makes her appearance in one blink-and-you-miss shot with Emraan. Take a look:
Ever since the promotions for Chehre started, netizens have been wondering why Rhea Chakraborty is absent from its posters and teaser. Rhea was announced as a cast member of Chehre in July 2019 but has been absent from the film’s promotions so far. Now, producer Anand Pandit has broken his silence on the same, saying that they have chosen to stay quiet about the matter for the time being.
He told Mid-day, “We did not react because we have decided not to talk about Rhea at this moment. We will answer questions regarding her at the right time. At this juncture, there is nothing more I can say."
