Thangalaan, Chiyaan Vikram-starrer action-adventure film, has been creating buzz among the fans ever since its announcement. Helmed by Pa Ranjith, the film is all set to hit the theatres on August 15. Ahead of its release, the makers of Thanglaan have reportedly decided to host a special screening of their film exclusively for Rocking Star Yash. The special event is said to emphasise the film’s intriguing narrative, which is inspired by the historical Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), prominently represented in Yash’s superhit franchise. Set against the historical backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka, Thangalaan delves into the region’s turbulent past, a theme previously explored in the blockbuster franchise KGF.
A source close to the film team said, “The makers of Thangalaan are planning a special movie screening for KGF star Yash as the film’s backstory is based on Kolar Gold Fields (KGF),” quoted a medi website.
Thangalaan is among one of the most anticipated films of 2024. It also stars Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Malavika Mohan, Daniel Caltagirone and Pasupathy in the lead roles.
Recently, during a film’s promotional event, Pa Ranjith shared how the trailer of KGF impacted the production of Thangalaan. He revealed that he initially halted the work on his dream project due to the noticeable similarities between the two films. The break allowed him to reassess and make significant changes to the story to ensure that the Vikram-starrer stood out distinctly.
Pa Ranjith also expressed his deep admiration for Vikram. While praising the actor for his dedication and hard work, the director said, “Vikram sir had a rib fracture while shooting for this film. Despite being in immense pain, he continued shooting. I don’t know how he managed it, but he did. He has so much trust in me. I want this film to succeed, especially for him.”
Thangalaan will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Jointly produced by Studio Green and Neelam Productions, the music of the film is composed by GV Prakash, cinematography by Kishor Kumar and editing is by Selva RK.
Apart from this, Chiyaan Vikram will also be seen in director SU Arun Kumar’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2.
