Two months back, a huge event rocked the Kannada film industry when top actor Darshan became the prime accused in the murder of Renukaswamy. The deceased, believed to have sent lewd messages to Pavithra Gowda, was abducted by men allegedly working for Darshan and Pavithra Gowda and beaten to death. Darshan, Pavitra Gowda and the gang are imprisoned at present. The investigation into the Renukaswamy murder case by actor Darshan and the gang has already reached its final stage.
Now, questions are being raised about the expenses incurred by the police in the investigation of the murder case. The police force has invested significant funds from day one, covering various aspects such as the investigation, technical evidence, witness testimonies, and location tracking. The pressing concern is: How much has this case cost so far? The investigation of the Renukaswamy murder case is reported to have cost around Rs 5 lakhs. It is said that the force has already spent this amount on the case so far.
The expenses for the Renukaswamy murder case investigation are said to be high, particularly due to the cost of electronic devices. The police have reportedly spent a significant amount on various items, including transportation, hard disks, pen drives, paper, card readers, food for the accused, and FSL services. A considerable portion of the budget has gone toward purchasing hard disks and pen drives, which were necessary for storing CCTV footage and retrieving data from DVRs related to the case. It is said that substantial funds were allocated to ensure that these crucial pieces of evidence were safely preserved.
Two days back, Darshan was transferred to the Central Jail in Bellary. The Kannada A-lister is in judicial custody till September 9, along with 16 others. Darshan’s transfer from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara prison, where he had been held since June 22, was approved by the court on Tuesday. This decision followed the circulation of a viral photograph on Sunday showing him mingling with gangsters, smoking, sipping tea, and relaxing inside the prison.
