Deepika Padukone has been grabbing headlines after there was a report saying that she has joined the popular web series The White Lotus Season 3. However, there was no confirmation from either side but the news was trending. And now there is a fresh update that the actress has opted out of the series. Bollywood Hungama has mentioned in its report that Deepika Padukone is not part of season 3 due to personal reasons.
Bollywood Hungama report says that the first season was shot in Maui; the second season was shot in Sicily. The third season of The White Lotus is to be shot in Thailand. But will Deepika join the cast and crew in Thailand later this year? A close friend of the Fighter actress informs me that she is likely to opt out of The White Lotus Season 3 for personal reasons. But we are still waiting for the confirmation of the news.
However, during a press conference for Fighter, the actress was asked about her next projects. Siddharth quipped, “Lotus 3… where’s now space? Lotus 3 is coming.” Deepika laughed at his answer while giving a puzzled expression. Deepika quickly said, “If Siddharth Anand makes Fighter 2…” The filmmaker replied, “Kaise karenge? Abhi Fighter 2 band kara di aapne, Lotus 3 kar rahi hain, pata nahi kya kya kar rahin hain… White Lotus 3.” Deepika then continued to laugh as she looked directly at Siddharth. The filmmaker said, “Kab time milega, Deepu?”
The speculation started after a screenshot emerged on Reddit, featuring her mother-in-law Anju Bhavnani’s X (formerly Twitter) account. The account had liked three posts about Deepika’s rumoured appearance on the show. The post quickly went viral on the microblogging site. Deepika Padukone was seen in a Hollywood film XXX: Return of Xander Cage with Vin Diesel.
Meanwhile, Deepika will next be seen in Kalki 2898 AD. The film will be headlined by Prabhas and will feature Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in key roles. She also has The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan. For the unversed, the Hollywood slice-of-life dramedy had released in 2015. Rene Russo, Anders Holm, Andrew Rannells, Adam DeVine and Zack Pearlman also featured in it.
