Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh have returned to the spotlight as they kick-start the shooting for the second season of Rana Naidu. The action-packed Netflix series follows Rana, called the ‘fixer of the stars,’ as he solves the complex cases of famous personalities. Season one saw Rana involved in chaos when his father was released from prison. Meanwhile, the original cast left audiences impressed with their performance and the makers are leaving no stones unturned to ensure the new season’s success. To add more excitement, Dino Morea has joined the cast for a major role. Sources reveal that the Raaz star will play the character of a cop and Pinkvilla reports indicate that filming for his part has already begun.
The source stated, “Season 2 of Rana Naidu series has cast Dino Morea in an important role in the character of a police officer. Dino has already started shooting for his role.” Currently, more details about his character, how Dino will be introduced and the plot details of the upcoming instalment are kept under wraps. However, leaked images from the set, featuring the Venky Mama star, have sparked excitement among fans.
While the debut season of Rana Naidu received praise from audiences, it also faced controversy due to strong language and intimate scenes. However, Venkatesh has assured fans that concerns have been addressed in the upcoming season and fans won’t get a chance to complain.
According to Indian Express, during an event in November, the veteran star said, “This time, I will be much more careful. I intend not to offend anyone this time. Last time, people from our region got affected, but, I assure you, this time it will be good. However, it will have a tinge of mischief. Naga Naidu is not a common man. People from across the world have been asking us to make the sequel of the web show. All the youngsters have watched it.”
Rana Naidu, an official remake of the American series Ray Donovan, is directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Varma. Other than Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati and Dino Morea, the cast includes Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra and Surveen Chawla.
Dino Morea has impressed audiences with his performances in films like Raaz, Aksar, Tom, Dick, and Harry, Fight Club and more. In recent years, he’s entered OTT and he was last seen in the 2022 series Kaun Banegi Shikharwati. Before that, he showed his talent in the period drama The Empire, the political thriller Tandav and the Ronit Roy-led series Hostages. He also made an appearance in Karisma Kapoor’s web debut Mentalhood. However, it was his role in The Empire that earned him praise from both viewers and critics. His remarkable performance in the series even earned him the Indian Television Academy Awards.
