Dream Girl First-Look Poster: Ayushmann Khurrana is Hiding in a Saree. But from Whom?

After releasing a teaser video announcing his new film Dream Girl, Ayushmann Khurrana took to Twitter to Monday to drop the film’s first-look poster.

Sharing the poster, he tweeted, “As whacky as it can get! Here's the first glimpse of my look in and as #DreamGirl. Thoughts?"

In the poster, he is seen wearing yellow-golden saree with black border and hiding his worried face with a pallu (veil). Wearing hawai slippers and bangles in one hand, he is sitting on a scooter whose number plate suggests the story is based in small-town Uttar Pradesh.

In the backdrop, the poster has a temple and the boards of two establishments—Jeewan Maran Shop and Shri Ram Leela Seva Samiti.

In a career spanning six years, Ayushmann has established himself as the poster boy for middle-class India, known for taking up roles other male leads would think twice about. In his debut film Vicky Donor, he played a sperm donor. He then went on to play a man suffering from erectile dysfunction (Shubh Mangal Savdhan), a young guy married to an obese girl (Dum Lagake Haisha), a pianist pretending to be blind (Andhadhun) and a son dealing with his ageing mother’s pregnancy (Badhaai Ho).

Written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl will star Nushrat Bharucha as the female lead. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Aashish Singh, it is Ayushmann’s first collaboration with Balaji Motion Pictures.
